Weekend Rewind

Little Moments Like ThisInstead of the usual Project 366, I decided to do a weekend rewind to recap a great weekend! I hope all the mothers out there had a great weekend as well.

Friday

I had the day off since Morgan had her first little field trip with school to the Children’s Museum. She had a blast and we will definitely be making a trip back and probably will be getting annual membership. What a great way to spend some energy this summer when its unbelievably hot this summer. A more detailed post with lots of pictures to come this week.We enjoyed a beautiful day outside with a picnic. Its sad to say that we have yet to be on a real picnic and Morgan seemed to enjoy the weather and just to be around her friends. It was also the first time Ive met her new teacher (since I only pick her up in the afternoons).

When I got back I got a nice surprise of a super clean house (thanks to my wonderful hubby!), a new lens, and a kitchen aid mixer (that Ive wanted for about 10 years or so!). It was so nice to not have to worry about a thing with cleaning and just enjoy our house for once.

Morgan played in her tent and mommy of course had to try out her new lens. Its a good first shot I think. She loves to say “cheese” for pictures now. They make for some super cute pictures! Bulldog had to join her in her tent because she couldn’t be in there alone. This picture was taken right after she woke up from her nap and her little cheeks were a tad red.

Saturday
We went that morning to get groceries for the week and on our way back home little miss feel asleep. Chad and I decided we wanted to make an entire meal all from scratch for our dear friends who just had a baby. We made Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, apple pie (only in PW cookbook), and green beans. It was a lot of work but it sure was good! Click on the word for the recipes if you are interested- all from Pioneer Woman except for one!

After Morgan woke up from her very long nap, we did handprint cards  and flower pots for grandma and great grandma. Morgan thought it was so much fun and then decided she needed to paint herself with the extra paint when mommy wasnt looking!

After getting super messy and getting paint all over everywhere, Morgan got cleaned up and we headed over to see our friends and their new baby. They have a big dog and cat and she loves to go over to their house and play with them. Their dog is big enough to swallow her but they usually play pretty good.

Sunday-Mothers Day
We started the day out with cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk (an all time favorite for sure!). Morgan gave me a hug that morning and we lounged in bed just relaxing, snuggling, and watching Mickey of course. Then we got ready and Chad and I both had Children’s Church. I volunteered for this and really enjoy it and the kids can always say the funniest thing. I do the 3 year olds once a month. Then after children’s church we headed to Sunday school.

For lunch, we met up with all of my family and enjoyed cock of the walk. Love their catfish and its always a treat. We haven’t been in quite a while and the best part about it was Morgan getting to feed the ducks (or at least attempting it)! Ill have to post the rest of the pictures {maybe sometime this week!}
We got a great family photo that I love because it really just captures the moment.

We ended a great day with stamping of the feet and paper. I mean who doesnt love to get stamps all over your body?! It just makes mommy cringe because of my OCD but hey its fun stuff.

Bathtime came very soon afterwards just to get all the stamps she covered herself in. We had to do some bathtime painting to have some more fun with colors. We are really working on those colors and shes getting much better at them.
It was a great weekend and I loved every minute of getting to spend an extra day with my little sweet girl and hubby. Now let the countdown begin till the end of the school year when I get to stay home every day for the summer and enjoy lots of fun moments!
