Red Velvet Valentine Cookies

Monday night Morgan and I set out to make some valentine cookies for her class on Tuesday. Ive pinned many recipes for Valentines day and had a hard decision to make a recipe that I had never made and give it to a bunch of kids. I finally decided on the Red Velevet cookies (without the icing due to giving it to little ones). Morgan seemed to think they were pretty good and she kept trying to take the little hershey kiss out of the center of it-silly girl! I thought we had them all done and I turned around to realize the little stinker grabbed one.

First we had to mix all the dry ingredients together
We then mixed the wet ingredients, dumped them together. Then we put the cookies on the baking sheet as well as the little hug hershey kiss in the center.
Then we put batter on top of the hershey kiss. Then the fun part of putting sprinkles on them
After they baked, we cut them out in shapes of little hearts. The final product ready to head to school.
They were pretty easy to make and I guess everyone at school enjoyed them or they trashed them-haha! It ended up making 27 hearts.

Her cute little hand she made at school-one I will always remember!

  1. What a great idea to bake with her — love how she is helping!! And her Vday craft is too precious!

  2. Adorable cupcakes!!! And what an amazing helper she is! I fear Gwen would be destructive in that situation, lol!
