Jesse Tree Explained

So after posting about the Jesse Tree ladder ornament that we made I had a few questions, comments about how does it work. I guess I should have explained it when I posted it but nevertheless here are the details.

Jesse Tree is just like an advent calendar but just a little different. You have a different ornament for each day (total of 25). Now what our church did was get a bunch of ladies together and each person made a different ornament for each day. Now if I had to make each individual ornament it would have been a lot tougher but instead I only had to make Day 6 which was the ladder. You use your own creativity (which in my case isnt very much) to make them. Since we had 38 people who signed up for them some people who had easier ornaments made 38 while some people split the more complicated ornaments.

Morgan will have her very own little Christmas tree that we place each of the 25 ornaments on starting on December 1 until Christmas Day. Each day that we have a handmade ornament from a different family in our church we will have a little devotional. I love the little book it has a childs devotion as well as an adult devotion for each night. The book is called The Advent Jesse Tree and its only $10. You can order it on Amazon.

This blog has awesome ideas for each of the days to get crafty if you wanted to do it all by yourself.

Another blog for great information on this is Emily who is the one at our church who headed up the entire project. Im so glad she did 🙂 She has 4 kids and I always love her blog posts so if you are looking for a great blog to add to your list go check it out!

Hope that clears up any questions and if not feel free to ask. I cant wait to do this with Morgan this year and start new memories with her!
